How To Make a Sexy Steak with Tim Ferriss

to see why we wrote this article: [Click Here to watch our Vlog]

You approach a girl, you get her number, and you begin talking. You then push yourself to have the confidence to go on a few dates. Then, it hits you: “I’m spending so much money, but yet she hasn’t gone with home me… what’s a cheap but sexy enough date to get her back to my place?!?”

You Cook For Her

We’re not talking about going to your local grocery store to buy some Lean Cuisines. Or, even going to the nearest Carl’s Jr., hiding the hamburger in a bag, and pretending you made it from scratch when she arrives. Instead, show her your cooking skills by doing it yourself.

Why This Is A Good Idea

Regardless if you live in a college dorm where you have to share a common kitchen, you have your own living space, or you live in a car with a stove, cooking for a girl does a few things:

Gets Her Closer To You… Faster

Imagine you and her in the kitchen; both prepping and cooking the meal together. Not only does it make it easier to converse with her, but it gives you easy access and an excuse to touch her while playing around with the ingredients.

I like to touch the lower side of her hips as I move around her to grab the knife.

Also, when you’re done eating, wash the dishes together: another way to make her wet.

Makes You More Attractive

Many guys don’t know how to cook. So, when you start sizzling your food you already begin differentiating yourself from the rest of them. Of course, we suggest (as stated above) that she just doesn’t sit around while you cook. You’re not Chef Boyardee where you’re supposed to entertain her as a prop. Make her help you, it’ll be a better experience.

It’s Cheaper Than Going Out

Unless you go to a specialty farm, then most romantic dishes can cost less than most restaurants. What’s even better is that once you’re done cooking, you can have enough food for left-overs. This is great when you get hungry after you and her workout together later in the night.

Well, if you’re anything like us back in the day, what the hell do you cook?

Sexy Time Steak

Very recently, if you watched our VLOG, Tim Ferriss joined us to teach us how to make a cheap but very juicy-moist steak. It’s a simple dish and we suggest you take notes.

Now, before you watch the video keep in mind a few things: i) clean up  your cooking space, ii) have your ingredients prepped and laid out, iii) wear clothes that are casual enough to take the heat, all BEFORE she arrives.

You don’t want to be scrambling around like an absent-minded chimp.

You got this player. And, after you watch the video don’t forget to discuss the article below.

Loved this! I'm suprised how so many people in college thought cooking your own things from scratch would be too difficult. Anybody reading this should go to the store straight after watching the video and pick up some steak, chicken, rice, vegetables, herbs and start putting your own recipies together!
You can tell Tim Ferriss has a good physique from doing his own sexy cooking, i'm going to check out some of his books!

Great stuff. I'd known about Tim before this, and I actually discovered him through listening to the Joe Rogan Experience. Great podcast if you're looking to learn a thing or two about life and have a laugh while you're at it.

Is the 200 Degree for the oven in Celsius (°C) or in Fahrenheit (°F)?

    • Alucardvred November 20, 2012 at 8:36 pm #

i'm sure it's farenheit, celsius would destroy things

      • Max_emanuelsson November 20, 2012 at 9:44 pm #

There is a girl I like but we go to different schools, although she sent me a friend request on facebook like a year ago. Is trying to pick up a girl on facebook creepy and ineffective? I go to an all guys school so it is kinda tough to meet girls. What is my best approach? I think I am going to see this girl in April through Confirmation at Church, so would it be best to make an attempt and wait it out until I possibly see her in person. Or should I not bother, or do I even have a chance?

    Thanks guys, any replies help.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

Easy.  Start talking to her on facebook messenger (start a casual conversation teasing her about a status or picture usually).  Tell her you want her number somewhere in the conversation, and that you'd like to go out sometime.  It seems like you're saying you're not going to see her anywhere anytime soon so this is your only way of doing it.  If you do see her, strike up a conversation and then do what they'd normally do and get her number.  If she's not interested she's not interested.  Just don't treat her like she's the only girl.  There's easily hundreds to choose from (depending on the area where you live).

        Thx a bunch man:)

    • Guest November 21, 2012 at 8:30 am #

For sure wait it out and see her in person. You can't build attraction over facebook, impossible. Most communication is not done through words-its more about tonality and body language. You don't get that over facebook. If you don't happen to see her, hit up another girl.

      • Eko November 21, 2012 at 10:45 am #

In my opinion, I say forgo the whole facebook pickup. It doesn't work lol. If possible, try to go to her school and talk with her and then from there get her number. If you wait until April, more than likely someone else will have gone balls deep in her sugar walls. In the mean time go talk to other girls and don't get too hung up on her. I mean she's not your girlfriend so it's not like she' your #1 priority. Personally, I like to go to Whole Foods. Quality Food = Quality Women

Tim didn't say a lot about buying a steak. USDA select steaks won't cut it, you need to buy prime steaks or at least choice steaks to get results. And Kosher salt is much better at brinning process than table salt.
If you can't afford good steaks, go for country style pork ribs(looks more like a steak).
Step 1: Use Worcestershire sauce(tartaric acid is a tenderizer) and kosher salt to brine the pork overnight/day.
Step 2: Rub out with a paper towel. Use good steak rub spices cuz pork's natural flavor is not as appealing as cow's.
Step 3: Over dying(LOW heat, this is key, I usually do it when I am done grilling other meats and not waste the energy of dying coals) coals, grill it with lid closed and vents almost closed and flip every 25-30 minutes for 2 hours.

Result is a well done yet the most tender pork rib you can ever eat.
NOTE: you should be easily able to hold your hand 6" above the coals for at least 15 secs or little more, thats the heat you want. If you feel the coal is completely off, light up a coal, throw it in and leave the vents fully open for 10-15 mins.

    Is a walmart steak good?

    • Julian a December 18, 2012 at 8:56 pm #

Most women can't tell a good steak apart from a hamburger. But yeah, I think walmart has some pretty good steaks.

Sorry guys, but I think you should dig deeper on your steak cooking video. I was looking for some insightful tip that I had never learned about, but instead I get this amateur video. Here's a fact: ANYTHING with a stick of butter on it is going to taste good. It's butter. It's fucking delicious. It's hilarious how everyone is acting so surprised like they've never had melted butter before.

  26. cloud264 February 1, 2013 at 1:59 am #

Good video, but I think he should've mentioned that you should rest the steak for a few minutes after you're done finishing it in the oven.  If you don't let the steak set for a few minutes, all of the juices will spill out of the steak when you go to cut it and you're left with a dry steak.  I mean, he did do it in the video, but just didn't say anything about it.  Either way, nice, simple steak recipe with good tips for those guys who don't really know how to cook.

  27. sgn February 17, 2013 at 10:04 pm #

For how long should you let it cook in the oven? I didn't quite get that part.

    • Guest February 26, 2013 at 11:55 pm #

Till it gets 135 or 136 degrees F. You need to use a temp reader like the one he's using. If you don't have a temp reader you check the steak using the rare medium rare and done method that he showed. Hopes this helped.

  28. Apoxiosis February 27, 2013 at 1:02 am #

Just made sexy time steak. Only place i differed is i rubbed cavenders seasoning into the steak instead of salt. It's almost bringing tears to my eyes. Panty melter for sure.

My huge-ass steak is in the freezer :-)

  30. mynameisFAT April 24, 2013 at 7:19 pm #

Does anybody know the preparation process? Are you supposed to freeze for 45 minutes, and then add salt and dry with paper towel? Or add the salt while it is freezing? ALSO, does anybody think it would work if I used a smaller cut like a Top-Sirloin and wrapped the walls in bacon? Somebody help me out, I'm trying to think outside of the box here! =)

You guys should write a book about what you do and how you do it. And find someone to market it for you, cause those things dont sell themselves.
